Wellingtons south coast looking towards the South Island showing a Cook Strait ferry making a crossing and the Inland Kaikoura range, snow capped mountains. The tall mountain is called Mount Tapueanuku. It was originally named Mount Odin by Captain James Cook, but he later named it “the watcher” as it was visible from so many points along the coast.
